Another Kanwariya dies during Shravani Mela 2024

A Kanwariya from Bhagalpur district died due to a heart attack while resting at the Bhootnath Dharmshala on the main route to Devghar in Katoria during the Shravani Mela 2024. The deceased, identified as Upendra Mandal, was taken to a nearby health center for examination after complaining of severe chest pain during the night rest at the Dharmshala. Unfortunately, he was declared dead after the examination.

Previous incident of Kanwariya dying from heart attack

Recently, another Kanwariya from Munger, Suman Jha, also passed away from a heart attack while on his way to Devghar with his son. These incidents highlight the risks involved in the Kanwar Yatra pilgrimage, especially related to health issues like heart attacks.

Kanwariyas face accidents and injuries during the pilgrimage

During the Shravani Mela, a woman Kanwariya from Balia village in Abarkha fractured her hand bone after falling near Abarkha. In another incident, a Kanwariya in Sultanaganj suffered a serious leg fracture due to an unknown vehicle’s impact. These accidents and injuries serve as a reminder of the dangers faced by devotees during the Kanwar Yatra.

Multiple Kanwariyas have lost their lives in various accidents during the Kanwar Yatra, with some succumbing to electrocution while others falling victim to heart attacks or road accidents.
