Approach Path Damaged
The approach path of the Lalbegiya bridge over the Sikarahna river on the Motihari-Dhaka main road, which connects Motihari-Shivhar-Sitamarhi to Nepal, was damaged while a horse carriage was crossing it. This led to a halt in vehicle movement for quite some time on both sides of the bridge. However, after receiving information about the damaged approach path, officials along with local residents reached the site to start repair work. Vehicles stuck on both sides of the bridge were removed after the repair work began.
Negligence of Department
The situation arose due to the negligence of the department, as the approach path of the bridge had weakened for quite some time, with holes forming in the soil at various places. However, no attention was paid to this issue until the damage occurred. Overloaded trucks passing over the bridge caused the wheels to get stuck in the holes, leading to a closure of traffic on one lane. Traffic movement from the damaged side has been restricted due to safety concerns.
Potential Hazard
A large hole near the damaged approach path on the Chiraiya side poses a potential hazard, as even a small amount of rainfall and the passage of a heavy vehicle during that time could result in a major incident. The BDPO and CEO inspected the site in the morning and decided to repair the damaged approach path with the help of JCB machinery to prevent any accidents in the future.
Inspection and Repair
In the morning, BDPO Arvind Kumar and CEO Chhati Grasht inspected the damaged approach path and conducted a thorough assessment. They informed their respective officials about the situation and decided to repair the damaged approach path with the help of JCB machinery. The repair work is expected to be carried out promptly to ensure the safety of vehicles using the Lalbegiya bridge.
मोतिहारी-शिवहर-सीतामढ़ी को जोड़ने वाली मोतिहारी ढाका मुख्य पथ में सिकरहना नदी के ऊपर बना ललबेगिया पूल का एप्रोच पथ ध्वस्त हो गया था। इसके कारण वाहनों की आवाजाही पर रोक लग गई और दोनों तरफ वाहनों को फंसाना पड़ा। लापरवाही के कारण हुई ऐसी स्थिति के बाद मरम्मत के लिए अधिकारी पहुंचे और इसे ठीक करने की कार्रवाई की। बीडीओ और सीओ ने भी निरीक्षण किया और होल की मरम्मत के लिए जेसीबी की मदद लेने का निर्णय लिया।
