This article discusses the recent meeting between Ashok Gehlot and RJD leaders in Patna regarding the Bihar elections.

Recently, Ashok Gehlot, the former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, visited Patna to address the ongoing disagreements between the RJD and Congress ahead of the Bihar elections. He met with key RJD leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav to discuss the coalition’s strategy for the upcoming polls.

During the discussions, Gehlot was appointed as the Senior Observer for Congress in Bihar. He spent around an hour meeting with Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, among other party members. After the meeting, Gehlot reassured everyone that the alliance is united and any confusion will soon be cleared up.

Gehlot acknowledged that there might be a “friendly fight” for a few seats in the 243-seat assembly, where Congress and RJD have put up candidates against each other on about 12 seats. He expressed confidence that these issues could be resolved in the next couple of days, so there won’t be any confusion moving forward.

When asked about naming Tejashwi Yadav as a potential Chief Minister candidate, Gehlot avoided a direct response. He emphasized that the Bihar elections are crucial for the opposition alliance, especially after a recent setback in Maharashtra.

Gehlot stated that having a few friendly contests on 5-10 seats is not a major concern. He believes all issues will be sorted out before the nominations are finalized. The main focus is on contesting against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) across all 243 seats in Bihar.
