The injured victims are currently undergoing treatment at the Begusarai district hospital. According to the information received, a youth named Priyanshu Kumar, living next to the student in Garai village, had been harassing her continuously and even threatening to abduct her. The student alleged that yesterday evening, when all her family members were out for work, Priyanshu, under the influence of alcohol, arrived with his two friends and started misbehaving. When the student protested, Priyanshu Kumar began beating her and also attacked her aunt when she tried to intervene.
