Rupa Devi from Chakmadiya village in Katoria block, Banka district, changed her fortunes with goat farming. Starting with one goat in 2016, she earned over 2 lakhs in 5 years. Encouraged by the profits, she now raises 50 goats and has received training in goat farming.

Benefits of Black Bengal goats in goat farming

Rupa Devi prefers Black Bengal goats for their low maintenance costs and adaptability to the local environment. With proper care and feeding, she is able to earn profits of up to 3 lakhs annually by selling 20-30 goats. Black Bengal goats are easy to raise and provide a good source of income for farmers.
