Poonam’s Journey
Poonam, the daughter of Ram Lakhan Mahato from Ibrahimpur Tola Ward No. 28 in the Bihath village of Begusarai district, is a student of B.A. She has been selected for the National Ball Badminton Championship, which will take place at the end of January. Before this, the Bihar government honored her with the Major Dhyan Chand Award and provided her with a cash prize of around 66,000 rupees. Her mother’s dream is for her to win a medal and secure a job through the “Medal lao, naukri pao” initiative.
नीरज कुमार, बेगूसराय गांव अब खेल की नगरी के रूप में अपनी पहचान बना रहा है। इन दिनों ‘मेडल लाओ नौकरी पाओ’ के तहत इस गांव की छह खिलाड़ियों को एक साथ नौकरी मिली है। इससे पहले भी इस गांव के खिलाड़ियों ने अपनी पहचान बनाई है। बिहार का बेगूसराय जिला खिलाड़ियों के लिए उर्वर भूमि बन गया है। यहां से लगातार खिलाड़ियों का चयन राज्य और राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर हो रहा है। पूनम कुमारी बीए की छात्रा भी अपनी प्रतिभा का लोहा मनवा रही हैं और राष्ट्रीय बॉल बैडमिंटन प्रतियोगिता के लिए चुनी गई हैं। उन्हें बिहार सरकार ने मेजर ध्यानचंद अवॉर्ड और धनराशि भी प्रदान की है।
