Bettiah Police have taken strict action regarding the death of a minor girl in Rakhai village under Shikarpur Police Station. Initially reported as a suicide on February 6, 2026, the case took a serious turn after the victim’s father recorded his statement. Police have now registered a murder case and arrested one main accused, Istekhar Ansari, while raids are going on to catch others involved.

What are the details of the incident?

The incident occurred on the night between February 5 and 6. According to the complaint filed by the victim’s father, Izhar Ansari, a group of local youths entered their home. They allegedly brought a minor boy from another neighborhood and tried to force him to admit to a relationship with the girl. When refused, the group dragged both the girl and the boy out of the house.

The family claims that the attackers tied up the victims and beat them severely. The group also forcibly cut the minor boy’s hair during the assault. The father stated that the accused murdered his daughter during this violence and left her body inside the house before running away. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team arrived at the spot to collect evidence and investigate these claims.

Police Investigation and Arrests

Based on the statement of the father, Shikarpur Police registered Case No. 130/26. The FIR names 11 individuals, including Istekhar Ansari, Sheikh Frakul, and Rabia Khatoon. Apart from these names, about 50 unidentified people are also mentioned in the complaint.

Police acted quickly and arrested Istekhar Ansari, who has been sent to jail. The police are currently conducting raids to arrest the remaining suspects. Bettiah Police confirmed that the situation in Rakhai village is currently stable and under control.
