Satyam Kumar, a farmer from the Gopalpur area of Bhagalpur district in Bihar, suddenly became a millionaire. However, despite having the money in his account, he cannot use it. The incident came to light when Satyam sent his son to the bank to check if the installment for the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana had been credited to his account. The bank informed them that one crore rupees had been deposited into his account, leading to the freezing of the account.
Satyam Mandal, the farmer, stated that he has no information on how and from where the one crore rupees came into his account. He mentioned that he only had a small amount of money in his bank account, which he uses for farming. Recently, he had sent his son to update the passbook and check the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana installment, during which they discovered the one crore rupees in the account. Satyam Mandal’s account only receives old-age pension and funds from the PM Kisan Samman Yojana. He has filed a complaint at the cyber police station, as instructed by the bank manager.
In this case, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sunil Pandey from Bhagalpur informed that a farmer has applied to freeze his account. Upon investigation, it was found that approximately one crore rupees had been deposited into the farmer’s account. A case has also been registered in the Warangal district of Telangana regarding the transfer of money. The Telangana police will be contacted, and full cooperation will be provided if they reach out for assistance.
