Machinery Worth Crores Turned into Scrap
The 5-acre campus, which was once visited by leaders like Dr. Rajendra Prasad and Jawaharlal Nehru, is now in a sorry state. Valuable machinery worth crores has rusted away due to lack of maintenance. Instead of industrial production, the premises are currently being used to park municipal garbage vehicles and private luxury cars. Approximately 20 families are residing on the campus, with officials stating that most are unauthorized occupants.
Internal Disputes Halt Production
For the first time in 73 years, the district could not produce its own flags for Republic Day. Orders worth lakhs were diverted to Hajipur because the local facility is non-functional. A lingering dispute between the current administrator Mayakant Jha and former manager Ravindra Kumar Thakur has further paralyzed any hope of revival. While the demand for Khadi flags remains high, this historic institution failed to contribute even a single piece this season.
