This article talks about the new “Pink Bus Service” in Bhagalpur to ensure safer travel for women and girl students.

In Bhagalpur, the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) has launched a special service called the “Pink Bus Service” to help women and girl students travel safely. This initiative aims to make their journeys more comfortable and secure while using public transport.

The District Magistrate has taken a significant step by writing to the Divisional Railway Manager, asking for a designated stop for the pink buses at the Bhagalpur Railway Station. The idea is to create a safe and fixed area for women and girls to get on and off the buses, which will enhance their safety at the station.

Currently, Bhagalpur Railway Station sees around 59 trains passing through, with about 46 trains stopping there. Given the high number of passengers, having a specific stopping point for the pink buses is essential for the convenience and safety of female travelers.

This effort will involve coordinating between the BSRTC and the railway management. The Regional Manager of BSRTC has been asked to work closely with the railway authorities to set this up. The District Transport Officer and the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) will also be involved in ensuring everything goes smoothly.

Moving forward, this plan aims to start as soon as possible, improving safety for women and girl students in Bhagalpur. The new bus service will not only provide better transport options but also foster a more secure environment for female passengers.
