A serious allegation of corruption has surfaced from the Kajraili police station area in Bhagalpur. A tractor owner engaged in transporting sand has accused a local police officer of seizing his vehicle not for the crime itself, but for a delay in paying a monthly bribe. The incident has sparked questions about the internal workings of the local police station.

Allegation of Monthly ‘Fixing’

The complainant stated that he had a fixed arrangement with a Sub-Inspector (SI) at the station. According to his claims, he pays Rs 5,000 every month to ensure his vehicle passes without trouble. He alleged that his tractor was seized specifically because he was late in making this month’s payment. The owner admitted to the illegal nature of the transport but insisted that police action was usually suspended in exchange for the bribe.

Investigation Ordered by SSP

The matter came to light shortly after Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pramod Kumar Yadav conducted a public grievance meeting in the area. Taking note of the serious accusations regarding a ‘bribery network’ within the force, senior officials have ordered a formal investigation. The department is now looking into the veracity of the claims made by the tractor owner against the officer.
