Introduction
Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav has once again given the ticket to Beema Bharti as the symbol of his party. After forfeiting her bail in the Lok Sabha elections, Beema Bharti will try her luck again in the state assembly by-election. She went to Rabri Bhavan on Tuesday to get the ticket. There, she met with RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi. She won the election on the ticket of CM Nitish Kumar’s party in 2020. This time, Janata Dal United has given the ticket to Kaladhar Mandal.
Vacant Seat Announcement
The Election Commission of India has announced the dates for the by-election on the Rupauli Assembly seat. The voting will take place on July 10th. This seat was vacant due to Beema Bharti’s resignation. Just before the Lok Sabha elections, Beema Bharti had resigned from the assembly membership, but she was unsuccessful in the Lok Sabha elections as well.
Nomination and Polling Dates
The Election Commission of India will issue a notification for the by-election on the Rupauli Assembly seat on June 14th. The last date for filing nominations is June 21st. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on June 24th. Withdrawal of names will take place by June 26th. Voting will be held on July 10th, and the counting of votes will be done on July 13th.
Victory in 2020 Elections
In the 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly elections, Beema Bharti won on the ticket of JDU on the Rupauli seat. She defeated Shankar Singh of the Lok Janashakti Party by 9672 votes. The third position was held by CPI candidate Vikas Chandra Mandal from the Mahagathbandhan. However, Beema Bharti left JDU before the Lok Sabha elections and joined RJD. She also resigned from the assembly membership and contested on the RJD ticket from the Purnia Lok Sabha seat. But she had to face a decisive defeat in the elections and remained in third place. The independent candidate Pappu Yadav won the Lok Sabha elections, while JDU candidate Santosh Kushwaha was in second place.
राष्ट्रीय जनता दल के सुप्रीमो लालू प्रसाद यादव ने अपनी पार्टी का सिंबल बीमा भारती को फिर से दिया है। उन्होंने विधानसभा उपचुनाव में टिकट लेने के लिए राबड़ी आवास पर मुलाकात की। इसे बीमा भारती के इस्तीफे के कारण खाली हुई रुपौली विधानसभा सीट पर उपचुनाव के लिए घोषित किया गया है। नामांकन 21 जून तक होगा और मतगणना 13 जुलाई को होगी। 2020 में उन्होंने जेडीयू टिकट पर रुपौली सीट पर चुनाव जीता था।
