The Bhojpur District Magistrate, Tanay Sultania, has ordered the Prohibition Department to take strict action against illegal liquor. Recently, Assistant Commissioner Rajneesh received a tip-off about a pickup truck carrying a big load of foreign liquor from Uttar Pradesh to Bhojpur, Ara in Bihar.

A special team led by Inspector Prakash Chandra was formed to investigate. During a vehicle check near the Koilwar Over Bridge, the officers discovered a large stash of illicit foreign liquor hidden in a secret cellar under the trunk of a Bolero pickup.

The pickup truck had the registration number BR03GB-9078. The driver, Pintu Kumar Tiwari from Bhojpur, has been arrested and is now in court facing charges related to this illegal activity.

In total, the authorities seized 1248 bottles of 8 PM Special Gran Whiskey, 336 bottles of After Dark Blue Rare Grain Whiskey, and 408 bottles of Kingfisher Extra Strong Beer. This amounts to 1992 pieces and around 489.120 liters of illegal liquor, valued at approximately Rs 6 lakh.

The seized liquor was being transported from Uttar Pradesh to Bhojpur, and further legal proceedings against the arrested driver are now underway. The authorities are taking strong steps to curb illegal liquor activities in the region.
