Big Upset in Jharkhand in Lok Sabha Elections
In the Lok Sabha elections, there was a big upset in Jharkhand as the BJP lost three seats ★Dumka, Lohardaga, and Khunti. The INC alliance successfully captured five seats. Congress won two out of seven seats, while JMM won three out of five seats. RJD and AJSU lost.
BJP’s Performance in Different Seats
BJP succeeded in Ranchi, Dhanbad, Palamu, Koderma, Chatra, Hazaribagh, Jamshedpur, and Godda seats, while AJSU managed to retain the Giridih seat. Congress won Lohardaga and Khunti seats this time. BJP faced a setback with the Scheduled Tribes (ST) seats in Jharkhand.
Reasons for BJP’s Loss in Jharkhand
The BJP faced losses in Jharkhand due to factors like empathy for Hemant Soren, tribal sentiments, candidate selection, weak booth management, and lack of trust among party workers. The party was unable to retain its existing seats in the state.
New Faces and Defeat of Sitting MPs
In Jharkhand, BJP brought in new faces in constituencies like Hazaribagh, Chatra, Lohardaga, Dhanbad, Singhbhum, and Dumka. However, they faced defeats in Lohardaga and Dumka. The defeat of sitting MPs like Arjun Munda and Annapurna Devi in the elections indicates a shift in voter preferences.
Impact of JMM and Congress Alliance
The JMM and Congress alliance won in seats like Ranchi, Singhbhum, Jamshedpur, Hazaribagh, Chatra, Dhanbad, and Dumka by fielding new candidates. This alliance faced losses in five seats. The defeat of key leaders like Sita Soren and Geeta Koda indicates a shift in traditional tribal voters’ support.
झारखंड में लोकसभा चुनाव में भाजपा को बड़ा उलटफेर हुआ। भाजपा ने तीन सीटें खो दी जबकि इंडी गठबंधन पांच सीटों पर कब्जा जमाने में सफल रहा। भाजपा को अनुसूचित जनजातियों की सभी सीटें हार मिली। एनडीए को तीन सीटों का नुकसान हुआ जबकि झामुमो-कांग्रेस ने 7 सीटों पर नए प्रत्याशियों को उतारा। इस चुनाव में भाजपा का बूथ मैनेजमेंट और कार्यकर्ताओं में भरोसे की कमी भी दिखाई दी। एनडीए के हाथ से खूंटी, लोहरदगा और दुमका सीट निकली जबकि राजमहल और सिंहभूम सीट में JMM के प्रतिष्ठान्वित वोटर्स के एकजुट होने से इंडी गठबंधन को जीत मिली।
