The Bihar assembly elections are coming up in 2025, and the government is all set to ensure a smooth election process. The administration is stepping up security measures across the state, making it clear that any illegal activities will not be tolerated.

Special arrangements are being made in 23 border districts. The police are closely watching activities coming from nearby states like Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. This is to make sure everything remains peaceful and fair during the elections.

To keep a check on illegal activities, police have set up 393 checkposts at state borders, including 50 posts from the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Additionally, 176 more checkposts are being prepared to prevent the smuggling of liquor, weapons, or any illegal goods into Bihar.

A virtual meeting was held with police officers from neighboring states, where it was decided to ban illegal activities at the borders and to share information quickly. They are also planning to track liquor smuggling using QR codes to take action against offenders.

The police will ensure that every checkpost is equipped with security forces, CCTV cameras, and mobile patrols. Extra care will be taken in sensitive areas to completely ban liquor smuggling and consumption during the election season.
