Bihar has secured a significant achievement in the field of architecture and engineering at the national level. The Building Construction Department of the Bihar Government announced that Bapu Tower in Patna and the Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum in Vaishali have been selected for the 17th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards 2026. These projects were chosen under the ‘Best Construction Projects’ category for their technical innovation and design quality.

Key Highlights of the Award Winning Projects

The projects represent a mix of modern technology and historical significance. The Construction Industry Development Council evaluated these sites based on several rounds of inspections and technical reports. The official ceremony will be held in New Delhi on April 10, 2026.

Secretary of the Building Construction Department, Kumar Ravi, stated that this award is a result of the hard work and technical excellence of the engineers and architects. The projects were conceptualized to preserve cultural heritage while creating modern landmarks for tourism and education. The department is setting new standards in building design for the state.

These sites are expected to become major attractions for international tourists and students. The Buddha Museum will house the sacred relics of Lord Buddha found between 1958 and 1962, making it a place of global reverence. Similarly, Bapu Tower features a research center and auditorium to educate visitors about the Champaran Satyagraha and Gandhi’s teachings in Bihar.
