The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced the detailed schedule and guidelines for the Intermediate annual examination 2026. The exams will take place from February 2 to February 13, 2026. This year, more than 13.17 lakh students will appear for the test at 1,762 centers across the state. The board has also issued strict instructions regarding entry timings and forbidden items inside the examination hall to ensure a fair process.
What are the Exam Timings and Entry Rules?
The examination will be conducted in two shifts daily. The morning shift starts at 9:30 AM and ends at 12:45 PM, while the afternoon shift runs from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. Students will get an extra 15 minutes as “Cool-off time” to read the question paper. However, the board has implemented very strict rules regarding the entry time this year.
Students must reach the center at least one hour before the exam begins. The entry gate will close exactly 30 minutes before the start time. For the morning shift, the gate closes at 9:00 AM, and for the afternoon shift, it closes at 1:30 PM. No candidate will be allowed to enter the center after the gates are locked, regardless of the reason.
Important Instructions and Documents for Students
Students must carry their Admit Card along with a valid photo ID proof like an Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, or Passport to enter the center. Electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, and calculators are strictly banned inside the hall. Any student found with these items faces severe action.
- Question Papers: There will be 10 sets of question papers (Set A to J) to prevent cheating inside the halls.
- Security Measures: Students will be searched at two levels before entering, and all centers are monitored via CCTV and videography.
- Strict Action: Any discipline violation or attempt to force entry can lead to expulsion for two years and an FIR against the student.
