This article discusses the ongoing heavy rains and floods in Bihar, detailing affected areas and weather alerts.

Bihar is facing serious trouble due to heavy monsoon rains. Many districts, including Purnia, Muzaffarpur, and Khagaria, are experiencing continuous downpour. The Meteorological Department has warned that this heavy rain will continue for a few more days across the state, except for a few areas like Patna and Gaya.

In Gopalganj, the rains are expected to be particularly heavy. Other districts like West Champaran and Siwan are also on alert for thunderstorms. There’s a yellow alert in place, and residents are urged to stay cautious. More rain is expected for the next couple of days, with some areas facing the risk of flooding.

On September 18, districts in South-Central Bihar might see heavy rain, while places like Buxar and Bhojpur can expect similar weather. From September 19, heavy rains will impact North Bihar along with districts like Bhagalpur and Banka. However, other areas may experience a temporary break from heavy rainfall.

The situation has become difficult for many, as continuous rains have flooded several regions. In Munger, for example, 33 panchayats are under water, affecting over two lakh people. The Ganges river is nearing its danger mark, and waterlogging is troubling places like the DMCH campus in Darbhanga.

As the weather persists, students in affected areas are taking precautions. Some have decided to leave their hostels and return home due to the worsening conditions. The rainy season continues to cause issues in Vaishali as well, with more challenges anticipated in the coming days.

Summary:

  • Bihar is facing heavy rains causing significant flooding.

  • Gopalganj and other districts are under alert for thunderstorms.

  • Heavy rain is expected to continue over the next few days.

  • Many districts are experiencing flooding, affecting thousands.

  • Students are evacuating hostels in response to the heavy rains.
