What’s inside:

This article talks about the ongoing cold wave in Bihar, detailing the weather conditions and temperature drops across various districts.

Bihar is currently experiencing a strong cold wave, with temperatures dropping significantly, especially at night. The chill is so intense that even the daytime sun is unable to warm things up. The weather is set to get colder over the next few days, with the minimum temperatures expected to fall by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in many areas.

A cold day warning has been issued for 19 districts in North Bihar and 5 districts in South Bihar. In places like West Champaran, East Champaran, and Madhubani, dense fog is expected, making visibility very low, around 100 meters. This could create difficulties for people walking and driving in those areas.

In Patna, the minimum temperature dropped below 10 degrees Celsius again, reaching 8.2 degrees. Although the sun appeared after several days, the cold winds made it feel even colder. This unusual mix of sunshine and chill has left many feeling anxious rather than relieved.

The coldest spot in Bihar was Gaya, where the temperature fell to 5.5 degrees Celsius. Many areas in South and North-West Bihar saw temperature drops of 2 to 5 degrees over just 24 hours. Despite the sun, the strong winds from the west added to the chill in the air.

For the next couple of days, light to moderate sunshine is expected in districts like Muzaffarpur, but the cold will continue due to icy winds. The cold coming from the Himalayas is preventing temperatures from rising, making the cold feel harsher than it is on paper. Overall, Bihar’s weather remains extremely cold and unforgiving.

Summary:

  • Cold wave continues to grip Bihar with dropping temperatures.

  • 19 districts in North Bihar and 5 in South Bihar are under cold day warnings.

  • Visibility issues expected due to dense fog in many areas.

  • Patna recorded temperatures below 10 degrees again.

  • Cold conditions are likely to persist with icy winds for the coming days.
