Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar talks about improvements in electricity supply and future plans for solar energy.

Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recently shared updates about electricity supply in the state. He made these announcements during public meetings in Khagaria and Bhagalpur. The Chief Minister highlighted the significant improvements in electricity availability under his government compared to the past.

Nitish Kumar stated that during his tenure, electricity availability has greatly increased. He pointed out that, unlike the past when people faced severe shortages, many households now receive free electricity for up to 125 units. This is a huge help for families, especially those from poorer backgrounds.

The Chief Minister also mentioned plans to promote solar energy. He promised that if given another term, his government would set up solar power plants on the roofs of houses. This initiative aims to reduce electricity costs and allow families to sell any extra power they generate.

Before 2005, cities like Patna had only 8 hours of electricity, while rural areas had even less. Now, people in Bihar can enjoy 22 to 24 hours of electricity, benefiting both urban and rural regions. This change is expected to boost development in agriculture and industry, creating more job opportunities.

Nitish Kumar urged the public to support his government’s efforts to continue these developments. He emphasized the importance of electricity in improving the overall social and economic conditions in Bihar, aiming to make it a more developed state.
