ED Raid on JDU MLC Radha Charan Sah’s Residence in Ara-Buxar Civic Area

ED raided the residence of JDU MLC Radha Charan Sah alias Seth in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Four ED teams reached the residence in Ara city and started investigation. The raid is in connection with illegal property acquired from the sand business. Central Force personnel have been deployed to maintain peace and order during the raid.

ED Had Summoned MLC’s Son for Questioning

Last month, ED had interrogated MLC Radha Charan Sah and his son Kanhaiya Sah regarding their involvement in the sand syndicate case. The officials questioned them about their sand business and connections with businessmen. MLC Sah had reached the ED office on August 31 and was interrogated for nine hours, while Kanhaiya Sah was questioned for six hours on September 1.

Previous Raids by Income Tax and ED

In February, the Income Tax Department raided MLC Radha Charan Sah’s premises and detected tax evasion worth Rs 200 crore. In June, ED conducted simultaneous raids at 26 locations associated with the MLC. During these raids, important documents were seized by the ED.

MLC Radha Charan Sah’s Political Background

MLC Radha Charan Sah, also known as Seth, won the Bhojpur cum Buxar MLC elections in April 2022. He defeated the RJD candidate and was nominated as the state general secretary of JDU in July 2022. Sah has been associated with the sand business for a long time and has close connections with top leaders of JDU.
