Four teachers have been accused of stealing items from a training institute in Bihar, raising serious concerns about their conduct.

Recently, a residential training program for teachers took place at the District Education and Training Institute (DIET) in Forbesganj, Araria, Bihar. During this five-day training, four teachers were caught stealing items from the institute, which is quite shocking since they are supposed to teach values like honesty.

The principal in charge, Aftab Alam, reported that the stolen items included bulbs, bedsheets, tea cups, and even handwash dispensers. The stolen materials were found in the personal vehicles and rooms of the accused teachers. The total value of these items is about eight thousand rupees.

The teachers involved are Mohd. Noorul Islam, Mohd. Mazhar Alam, Mohd. Niaz Alam, and Mohd. Tauqeer Alam, who all work in different schools in the Palasi and Jokihat blocks. They had come to attend the training starting from December 13, 2025. Their suspicious behavior was noticed from the very first day and was later confirmed through CCTV footage.

The principal has written a strong letter to the District Education Officer, calling for strict action against the teachers and recovering the financial loss of ₹8,000 for the institute. This incident has raised serious concerns about the reputation of the entire teaching community.

The education department is now preparing to take legal and departmental action regarding this matter. The situation has certainly put the spotlight on the ethical standards expected from educators.
