During his address, Education Minister Chandra Shekhar asked the audience where they would go if they wanted education or aspired to become officials, legislators, or parliamentarians ★a temple or a school? He supported the statement made by Fathah Bahadur Singh, quoting Savitribai Phule, and emphasized the need for education. He questioned the relevance of searching for God in specific places when God resides within every individual and everywhere. He criticized the exploitation of allocated spaces meant for temples and hospitals by a few individuals for personal gain.

बिहार की नीतीश कुमार सरकार में राष्ट्रीय जनता दल के विधायक-मंत्री लगातार अयोध्या के श्रीराम मंदिर को लेकर सवाल उठा रहे हैं। राजद के विधायक फतेह बहादुर ने इसके औचित्य पर सवाल उठाते हुए जमकर भड़ास निकाली तो अब राजद कोटे के ही शिक्षा मंत्री प्रो. चंद्रशेखर ने उनकी बातों का न केवल समर्थन किया, बल्कि दो कदम आगे की ही बात कह दी। उन्होंने मंदिर और अस्पताल में से चुनने की बात तो कही ही, यह भी कहा कि फतेह बहादुर की जीभ और गले की कीमत घोषित करने वाले यह जान लें कि अब एकलव्य की तरह आहुति देंगे नहीं, लेंगे। शिक्षा मंत्री चंद्रशेखर ने संबोधन के दौरान लोगों से पूछा कि अगर आप घायल हो जाएंगे तो कहां जाएंगे? मंदिर या अस्पताल? अगर आप शिक्षा चाहते हैं और अधिकारी, विधायक या सांसद बनना चाहते हैं तो क्या आप मंदिर या स्कूल जाएंगे? विधायक फतेह बहादुर सिंह ने वही कहा जो सावित्रीबाई फुले ने कहा था। शिक्षा मंत्री ने कहा कि जब भगवान राम हममें से हर एक में और हर जगह रहते हैं, तो आप उन्हें खोजने के लिए कहां जाएंगे? शिक्षा मंत्री ने केंद्र की सरकार पर हमला बोलते हुए कहा कि देश में जो सामाजिक न्याय, शिक्षा, रोजगार और पाखंडवाद के खिलाफ जो बात करेगा उसे जीभ और गर्दन काटने पर पुरस्कृत करने का ऐलान किया जा रहा है।
