This article talks about the current weather conditions in Bihar after the monsoon season has ended.
The monsoon has officially left Bihar, and it has been quite a few days without any rain. The weather is now showing a big difference between day and night temperatures. During the day, it still feels hot, but nights are getting chilly, making some people feel a bit dizzy in the mornings and evenings. The pleasant coolness has made the weather enjoyable across the state.
Today, the weather in Bihar is expected to be dry with no chance of rain. The Meteorological Department mentions that western winds are bringing some coolness in the mornings and evenings. Light fog was also spotted in some areas. The temperature is anticipated to reach a maximum of 28 to 32 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 18 to 22 degrees Celsius. While it will be sunny, there will be some clouds around too.
This year, the monsoon withdrew from Bihar on October 13. It arrived on June 17 and covered the state by June 20. The withdrawal process began on October 10 and took just three days. However, this year’s monsoon was disappointing as Bihar experienced about 31% less rainfall than usual. From June 1 to September 30, Bihar received only 686.3 mm of rain, while the normal amount is 992.2 mm.
In the past two years, Bihar has also seen below-normal rainfall. In 2024, rainfall was 20% less, while in 2023 it was 23% less than expected. In 2022, the shortfall was even more, at 32%. There was a significant rainfall in Patna on July 29, 2025, but the rest of the state continued to experience drought-like conditions.
The lack of rainfall has created drought-like situations in many areas, leading to cracks in the fields. As of now, farmers are facing challenges due to these conditions, and immediate measures may be needed to address the situation effectively.
