This article updates on the recent weather changes in Bihar, including rain and alerts for various districts.

Bihar is experiencing a significant change in weather. On Friday, Patna saw dark clouds and continuous rain. Since Saturday morning, strong winds have accompanied the rain, making the weather quite pleasant. Many areas in North Bihar are also expected to receive rain as the situation develops.

The Bihar Meteorological Service has issued a red alert for districts like Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Saran, and Bhojpur due to the seriousness of the ongoing weather conditions. Thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are expected to peak on Saturday, particularly affecting regions such as Darbhanga and Madhubani.

For the public, this means that it’s best to stay cautious and avoid unnecessary outings. Rainfall is anticipated throughout the day in Central Bihar, including Patna. An orange alert is also in place for Supaul, Saran, and Muzaffarpur, with heavy rains expected in districts like Araria, Purnia, and others.

The weather changes are caused by a deep depression forming in the Bay of Bengal, which has activated monsoon activity. This has led to a drop in temperatures, although increased humidity has kept the minimum temperature higher than usual. Light to moderate rain has already been recorded in 14 districts.

The thunderstorms are set to continue through the weekend, with wind speeds reaching 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. The Bihar Meteorological Service has indicated that this weather pattern will persist until at least October 7, after which there may be a decrease in rainfall intensity.

Summary:

  • Bihar is experiencing rain and strong winds.

  • A red alert is issued for several districts due to severe weather.

  • People are advised to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.

  • Weather changes are linked to a depression in the Bay of Bengal.

  • Thunderstorms are expected to continue until at least October 7.
