This article talks about the dropping temperatures in Bihar, the expected cold weather, and the impact on air quality.

The weather in Bihar is getting colder as temperatures drop below 10 degrees Celsius in many districts. The Meteorological Department has warned that the cold will increase in the next few days. It is quite unusual to see such low temperatures this early in November, as these temperatures are usually felt in December or January.

Cold winds from the north-west are causing these temperature drops. This has led many people to bring out their warm clothes, quilts, and blankets. On Monday, Gaya district recorded the lowest temperature of 11.5°C. In Patna, the temperature was noted at 13.4°C, while other districts like West Champaran and Rohtas also saw significant drops.

As the cold continues, the Meteorological Department predicts that temperatures may fall by another 1 to 2 degrees in the next 48 to 72 hours. This will likely result in more fog and mist during mornings and evenings. While daytime may see some sunshine, the dense fog will prevent the sun from warming the ground effectively.

Along with the cold, the air quality is also worsening in areas like Patna. The Air Quality Index (AQI) has reached 293 in Sammanpur and 212 in Danapur, both of which are in the ‘bad’ category. This poor air quality has prompted warnings for residents to take precautions when going outdoors.

As winter progresses, people should prepare for even colder weather ahead. With the temperatures dropping further, it is advisable to stay warm and be cautious of the air quality, especially when going outside in the early morning or late evening.

Summary:

  • Temperatures in Bihar are dropping below 10 degrees Celsius.

  • Cold winds are causing people to use more warm clothing.

  • Further temperature drops are expected in the next few days.

  • Air quality is worsening, with several areas in the ‘bad’ category.

  • Residents are advised to take precautions when going outside.
