The state of Bihar, including Patna, is currently experiencing severe cold weather conditions and heavy fog. The Meteorological Center has advised people to stay indoors, especially the elderly and children. In response to the extreme cold, the Bihar government has ordered the closure of all Anganwadi centers in the state. Additionally, schools in Patna and several other districts have suspended academic activities for students up to the 8th grade.

According to the directive issued by the Director of the ICDS, the state is experiencing extreme cold weather, which can have an adverse effect on young children who have to travel to the centers. As per the High Court’s decision, it is mandatory to distribute rations at Anganwadi centers for 300 days in a year. Considering these factors, it has been decided to keep all Anganwadi centers closed until January 18. During this time, all Anganwadi workers have been instructed to provide food supplies to children aged 3-6 at their homes.

In Patna, schools have also been closed. In view of the ongoing cold wave in most districts of Bihar, the District Magistrate of Patna has ordered the suspension of all academic activities for students up to the 8th grade in both private and government schools until January 16. This means that all government and private schools in Patna district will remain closed from January 13 to January 16. Additionally, there have been changes in the timings for classes 9, 10, 11, and 12. This situation is similar in most districts of Bihar.
