The Bihar government has undertaken several initiatives to improve the electricity supply in the state. According to the government, electricity has been provided to every household and every corner of the state. The electrification rate has reached 100%. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the state government is ensuring uninterrupted power supply without any issues. Additionally, the quality of electricity has also been improved, providing better quality power to the people. The government has also taken steps to provide relief in electricity bills by allocating a subsidy of 13,114 crores for consumers.
Introduction of ‘Suvidha App’ for Electricity Services
Bihar is the first state in India to launch the ‘Suvidha App’, which offers several benefits to users. Through this app, users can easily apply for a new electricity connection and make bill payments from the comfort of their homes. The app also allows users to rectify any errors in their electricity bills and apply for load changes online. Apart from these features, the app provides various other advantages to the consumers. The ‘Suvidha App’ was developed by Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited and has proven to be beneficial for the people even after its launch.
Advantages of ‘Suvidha App’ and Self-Service Options
The ‘Suvidha App’ offers self-service options, allowing consumers to update their mobile numbers and email IDs. It also provides the benefit of availing discounts on electricity bills. The app has proven to be beneficial for consumers through its smart meter service and bill payment service. With lakhs of consumers using the app, it only requires consumer numbers and registered mobile numbers to make bill payments and easily download the bills. Using the government’s app for electricity bill payments also brings transparency in the electricity services.
Improvements in Bihar’s Electricity Infrastructure
The Bihar government has been working on various projects to improve the electricity infrastructure in both rural and urban areas. The aim is to replace transformers within 24 hours in urban areas. For farmers, electricity is being supplied at a rate of 70 paise per unit. Feeder construction has also been completed for agricultural purposes. Additionally, the construction of 1555 new dedicated feeders is underway. These efforts by the government will ensure a steady supply of electricity to the people of Bihar.
बिहार सरकार ने बिजली के कामों में कई सुधार किए हैं। बिहार सरकार ने घर तक बिजली पहुंचाने का दावा किया है और राज्य में बिजली पहुंचाने का काम 100% पूरा किया गया है। इसके साथ ही बिजली के गुणवत्ता में भी सुधार किया गया है। सरकार ने बिजली बिल में राहत के लिए 13,114 करोड़ रुपये की सब्सिडी का प्रावधान किया है। बिहार देश का पहला राज्य है जिसने ‘सुविधा एप’ को लॉन्च किया है। इस एप से यूजर को नया कनेक्शन लेने, बिजली बिल का भुगतान करने और गलतियों को सुधारने की सुविधा है। इसके अलावा बिहार में बिजली के कार्यों में भी कई सुधार किए गए हैं।
