Gulshan Kasyap/Jamui: If you are an athlete and have received a government job under the “Medal Laao, Naukri Paao” (Win Medals, Get Jobs) initiative by the Bihar government, then be aware that your job can be taken away if you make a mistake. The Bihar government has started the Medal Laao, Naukri Paao initiative to provide government jobs to athletes who excel in various sports fields, and all athletes are being given government jobs under this initiative. In a recent event held in Patna, 71 athletes from across the state were given jobs. However, if these athletes make a mistake, they can lose their job.
Shailesh Kumar, a resident of Jamui district, has also been given a job by the Bihar government. He has been appointed as the Project Officer for Child Development in Nalanda district. Shailesh, who won a gold medal for India in the Asian Para Games, has received this job from the Bihar government. Shailesh mentioned that after receiving the job, they had to sign a bond stating that they cannot quit sports for the next 5 years. They have to continue playing sports for the next 5 years no matter what. However, it is not mentioned how difficult it can be for athletes if they do not comply with this condition. Shailesh mentioned that the government wants athletes to continue bringing fame to the country and the state, which is why this decision has been made.
Athletes often quit sports after getting a job, according to Shailesh. But the government wants all athletes to continue performing well in sports. Hence, they have set this condition. After 5 years of receiving the job, athletes can choose to focus on their job if they wish, after continuously playing for the state and the country. Shailesh also mentioned that he is preparing for the Paris Paralympic Games and aims to win medals for the country in that as well.
बिहार सरकार ने मेडल लाओ नौकरी पाओ की शुरुआत करके खेल क्षेत्र में बेहतर प्रदर्शन करने वाले खिलाड़ियों को सरकारी नौकरी देने का फैसला किया है। इसके तहत, जमुई जिले के शैलेश कुमार को बाल विकास परियोजना पदाधिकारी का पद दिया गया है। यह नौकरी मिलने के बाद उन्हें पांच साल तक खेल नहीं छोड़ सकते हैं। शैलेश ने बताया है कि वह पेरिस पैरा ओलंपिक गेम्स में भी देश के लिए पदक जीतना चाहते हैं।
