PATNA: Bihar Government Removes S.K. Singh as Chairman of Central Selection Board for Constable Recruitment
The Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government has taken a major action in response to the leaked question paper scandal of the constable recruitment examination. The state government has removed S.K. Singh from the position of Chairman of the Central Selection Board. It should be noted that the government has removed S.K. Singh from his position within a year. DGP Fire and Homeguard Shobha Ahotkar has been given the additional charge of Chairman.
Home Department Issues Notification Regarding the Decision
The Home Department issued a notification regarding this matter on Tuesday. The Nitish Kumar government faced a lot of criticism in the case of the leaked question paper of the constable recruitment examination. It is believed that it is due to this reason that the government has made this major decision. Shobha Ahotkar is a 1990 batch IPS officer.
S.K. Singh Retired as DGP of Bihar in December 2022
S.K. Singh retired from the position of DGP of Bihar in December 2022. After that, he was appointed as Chairman of the Central Selection Board for a period of three years on January 21, 2023. Just a few months after taking up this position, the recruitment process for 21,000 constables was started by the board. However, the question paper for the written examination went viral after being leaked from several districts. A total of 74 cases related to this were registered in the entire state. Later, the government handed over the investigation of the case to the Economic Offenses Unit.
नीतीश सरकार ने पटना सिपाही भर्ती परीक्षा पेपर लीक कांड के मामले में एक बड़ा एक्शन लिया है। उन्होंने केंद्रीय चयन पर्षद के सिपाही भर्ती के अध्यक्ष पद से एसके सिंघल को हटा दिया है और उनकी जगह पर शोभा अहोतकर को नियुक्ति दी है। पद हटाने का फैसला गृह विभाग ने जारी किया है। पहले सिंघल बिहार के डीजीपी पद से रिटायर हुए थे और उन्हें 2023 में केंद्रीय चयन पर्षद के अध्यक्ष का पद दिया गया था। परीक्षा के प्रश्न पत्र का लीक होने के बाद इस मामले की जांच के लिए सरकार ने आर्थिक अपराध इकाई को सौंप दिया है। अभी तक कई लोग गिरफ्तार किए गए हैं और जांच अभी भी जारी है।
