This article talks about the government’s efforts to reduce road accidents in specific districts of Bihar.

In a recent update, the Bihar government has identified six districts in the state that have a high number of road accidents. These districts are Patna, Muzaffarpur, Saran, Motihari, Gaya, and Nalanda. The initiative aims to make these areas “zero fatality districts” to minimize road accidents.

The Transport Minister, Shravan Kumar, shared this news during a meeting of Transport Ministers from various states in New Delhi. The government is focusing on understanding the reasons behind accidents in these districts and is working towards reducing them to zero.

To make the roads safer, the government will conduct public awareness programs from January 1 to 31. These programs will include rallies, training for drivers, and educational activities in schools and colleges. The aim is to involve the community in promoting road safety.

Additionally, the government has identified “black spots,” which are areas with a high frequency of accidents. Measures like improving road signs, widening roads, and securing sharp turns will be implemented to enhance safety in these locations.

Furthermore, over 1500 government ambulances and more than 2000 private ambulances are available for quick response in case of accidents. The government is also ensuring that accident victims receive timely medical treatment through various compensation schemes.
