The Bihar Government has launched pink buses in Munger to enhance safety for women. These buses are now available, similar to those in Patna, and are parked at the Shastri Nagar bus depot.

These pink buses will operate on the route from Jamalpur to Bariyarpur. The fare is set lower than other local transport, with tickets costing ₹18 from Jamalpur to Munger and ₹27 to Bariyarpur. Each bus has 22 seats specifically for women and girls.

The buses will be driven by women drivers and managed by women conductors. They will operate daily from 8 AM to 5 PM, making it easier for women to travel safely during those hours.

In an innovative move, the buses will also feature a sanitary pad ATM, allowing women to access sanitary pads for just ₹5. Fire safety measures, including fire extinguishers, have been installed inside the buses.

This initiative marks a significant step towards improving transport options for women in Munger, promoting safety, and providing necessary facilities during travel.
