This article talks about the recent weather changes in Bihar, including cold weather, rain alerts, and flooding due to rising river levels.

The weather in Bihar has turned chilly as a pink cold has arrived. People are feeling a slight chill, especially in the mornings and evenings. Today, 26 districts in the state are under a yellow alert for rain, which means light to moderate showers are expected along with thunderstorms.

The Meteorological Department has warned that these areas could experience winds reaching speeds of up to 40 kmph. Due to the risk of lightning, residents are advised to stay away from open fields and large outdoor spaces during the storms.

Interestingly, no rain has been recorded in Bihar in the last 24 hours. However, continuous rainfall in Nepal has caused rivers in North Bihar to swell, leading to flooding in several districts. Six blocks in Supaul are particularly affected, with around 5,000 houses submerged in water.

In Madhubani, more than one lakh people have been impacted by the floods. The waters from the Sariswa river in Nepal are causing waterlogging in Raxaul and nearby areas, with floodwaters spreading to places like Ramgarhwa, Sugauli, Semra, and Motihari.

Despite the monsoon season winding down, the Meteorological Department indicates that thunderstorms may continue due to local factors. People are urged to remain vigilant, especially farmers, as strong winds and storms could damage standing crops in the fields.

Summary:

  • The chilly weather is here in Bihar with a pink cold.

  • 26 districts are on alert for rain and thunderstorms.

  • No rain has been recorded in Bihar recently, but floods are caused by rising rivers.

  • Thousands of houses are flooded in Supaul and Madhubani.
