The Bihar government has brought good news for women in the state who want to start their own work. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced that the state government will provide financial help of up to ₹2 lakh to women beneficiaries. This assistance is part of the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana. The proposal to increase the amount has received official approval from the cabinet.
How to get the 2 Lakh Rupees help?
The government has set a simple process for this scheme. First, the selected women receive an initial amount of ₹10,000 to start their small business. After this, there is a waiting period of six months. Government officials will check how the business is running after this time.
If the officials find that the money was used correctly and the business is working, the government will give the additional amount. This top-up can go up to ₹2 lakh depending on the requirement of the work. The best part is that this money is a grant, which means women do not have to return it to the government.
Who is eligible for this scheme?
The scheme targets one woman from every family in Bihar to help them become self-reliant. Reports state that around 1.56 crore women have already received the first installment of ₹10,000 directly in their bank accounts.
The government is also helping these women sell their products. Departments have been asked to set up Haat Bazaars in villages and cities. Beneficiaries will also be linked to other state programs like Didi Ki Rasoi and Sudha Sales Centers to ensure their business grows.
