What’s inside:
The Bihar government has made a new online training program mandatory for all police officers, linking it to their performance reviews and promotions.
In a recent update, the Bihar government has decided that all police officers, including those in the Indian Police Service (IPS), must complete a digital learning program called “Mission Karmayogi.” This decision was announced by the Home Department, and it aims to enhance the skills of police personnel.
The Joint Secretary, Prakash Ranjan, sent a letter to the Director General of Police, stating that completing this training will be noted in the officers’ Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR). This means that their performance reviews will now directly depend on their training completion.
Many police officers have not yet registered on the iGOT Karmayogi platform, and those who have are not updating their profiles, which includes important details like email and phone number. These issues are preventing them from accessing the required courses, which are essential for their professional growth.
The government has made it clear that completing these courses is crucial for future promotions and evaluations. If officers do not finish their profiles and necessary training on time, their performance reports will be negatively affected, impacting their career progression.
To ensure smooth implementation, the Home Department has instructed the IT Manager to inform all Bihar cadre officers via email. They are also encouraged to seek help from the Mission Karmayogi team for any technical issues they encounter with the platform.
Summary:
- All Bihar police officers must complete “Mission Karmayogi” training.
- Successful training will be noted in their performance appraisals.
- Many officers have not registered or updated their profiles.
- Future promotions are linked to the completion of this training.
- Officers are advised to seek technical assistance if needed.
