Bihar Metro Projects: After receiving approval from the Bihar Cabinet, the state government aims to operate metro rail in four cities of the state ★Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, and Gaya. The state government is working swiftly towards this goal, with the Department of Urban Development and Housing conducting a feasibility study for metro rail in these cities. By November, the government has requested a Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) and an Alternative Analysis Report (AAR) from the Indian government agency RIITS.
DPR to be ready by January 2025
Based on the report received from RIITS, a Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be prepared by January 2025 and sent to the central government for approval. Once the DPR is approved by the central government, the project will move forward to determine the funding for the metro rail in all four cities before the state assembly elections.
What will be included in the DPR?
According to a senior officer of the Department of Urban Development and Housing, the DPR, which will be prepared for approval of the project by the Indian government, will include cost estimates, financial, design, institutional arrangements, optimal recommended MRTS mode plan and implementation plan. After approval, all three reports ★DPR, AAR, and CMP ★will be sent to the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing for approval.
Funding model to be determined based on the report
Based on the reports submitted, the central government will decide if the particular project is suitable for the city and what its financial viability is. Once financial viability is confirmed, taking into account the CMP, AAR, and DPR, a funding model will be determined. Efforts will be made to start work as soon as approval is received from the central government.
बिहार मेट्रो परियोजनाएं: बिहार कैबिनेट की मंजूरी के बाद राज्य सरकार ने मुजफ्फरपुर, भागलपुर, दरभंगा और गया में मेट्रो रेल चलाने का लक्ष्य रखा है। इन शहरों में मेट्रो रेल की संभाव्यता का अध्ययन करने के लिए राज्य सरकार तेजी से काम कर रही है और जनवरी 2025 तक DPR तैयार हो जाएगी। इसके बाद केंद्र सरकार को मंजूरी के लिए भेजा जाएगा। डीपीआर में फंडिंग मॉडल और परियोजना की वित्तीय व्यवहार्यता के आधार पर तय की जाएगी।
