State Bureau, Patna: The Education Department of the state has initiated an action plan to establish computer labs in 10,000 government middle schools. This facility will be available to students from classes VI to VIII. Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, KK Pathak, has instructed the District Magistrates and Deputy Development Commissioners to set up computer labs in selected schools. The implementation of this plan will begin as soon as possible.
In order to proceed with the setup of computer labs, the schools are required to provide a test report on the current status of the electricity system within a week. The Education Department aims to ensure that 100% of students in classes six and above, up to class X, receive computer education and training in government schools. This initiative will benefit approximately 75 lakh students. The necessary provisions for this program have been made in the current budget.
Currently, computer education is only available in higher secondary schools. However, the Education Department intends to expand access to online education beyond urban and town areas with internet availability, reaching remote areas as well. To support this initiative, the Education Department is collaborating with experts to develop computer study material for classes VI to XII. Videos based on the syllabus of each class will be prepared, and daily live classes will also be organized.
