After the Korana epidemic, the tourism sector is coming back on track. Compared to last year, two and a half times as many foreign tourists have come to Bihar this time in the first half itself. The number of domestic tourists has also increased.
Last year in 2022, a total of 86,829 tourists had come to Bihar, but this time till June itself the figure has crossed 206,000. From September to December, the weather is very favorable for tourism. During this, events like Pitrupaksha Mela, Sonpur Mela are also held.
Most tourists in March, least in May
According to the tourism department, between January and June, the state major tourist centers But 142,109,989 tourists came. Of these, 140,041,138 are indigenous, while 206,851 are foreigners. In February and March, most tourists visited Bihar.
In February, 27,61,000, while in March maximum 32,46,000 tourists came to visit. In view of the scorching heat, the lowest number of 18,99,000 tourists came in May.
There are more foreign tourists in Gaya than domestic tourists in Patna.
Gaya remained the most preferred destination for foreign tourists visiting Bihar. Due to Kalachakra Puja, more than 55,000 foreign tourists came here. After this, 39,000 foreign tourists came to Vaishali, 35,000 to Bodh Gaya, and more than 30,000 each to Rajgir and Nalanda.
Patna remained the first choice of domestic tourists. Maximum 38,55,000 tourists came here till June. After this, 11 lakh tourists visited Rajgir while more than 9.5 lakh domestic tourists visited Bodh Gaya.
