What’s inside:

Bihar Police is taking strong measures against crime, not just for criminals but also for corrupt policemen.

Bihar Police is stepping up its fight against crime. The Director General of Police (DGP), Vinay Kumar, has announced that strict actions will be taken against policemen who engage in criminal activities. This means that if any policeman is found misusing their uniform, they will face serious consequences.

The DGP has given these officers 15 days to clean up their act. If they are caught committing crimes, they will be dismissed from their jobs and could also end up in jail. This warning comes after several cases where policemen themselves were involved in illegal activities. Recently, two officers from Gayaji and Vaishali have already been jailed for such offenses.

In addition to tackling corrupt police, the DGP has also issued a stern warning to land mafia groups. To prevent crimes related to land disputes, special meetings will now take place every Saturday in all police zones. The reports from these meetings will be uploaded online, and strict actions, including confiscation of properties, will be taken against identified land mafias.

On another note, the DGP reported that in 2025, there has been an increase in arrests, with over 50,000 criminals taken into custody. The police force is also expanding, aiming to reach a total strength of 1,26,611, including a significant number of women officers, making up 28.41% of the force.

Moving forward, the Bihar Police will continue to focus on reducing crime rates and enhancing safety, especially for women. With new initiatives like the ‘Abhaya Brigade’ for the protection of school and college girls, the aim is to create a safer environment for everyone.

  • Bihar Police is taking strict action against corrupt policemen.

  • Officers involved in crime face dismissal and jail time.

  • Special meetings to combat land mafia are scheduled every Saturday.

  • More than 50,000 criminals arrested this year.

  • Police force is expanding, focusing on women’s safety initiatives.
