Bihar’s Sports Minister Shreyasi Singh had an important meeting today in Delhi with Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs. Also present were officials from the Bihar State Sports Authority, including Ravindran Shankaran and Himanshu Singh. They discussed how the Bihar government is working to improve the state’s image and achievements in sports on a global level.
During the meeting, Dr. Mandaviya praised the efforts made by Bihar in sports and promised full support from the central government for enhancing sports and player development in the state. Shreyasi Singh suggested opening an Olympic Training Center in Bihar, and Dr. Mandaviya agreed to this idea, particularly for fencing training.
Shreyasi Singh also received an invitation for the Khel Manthan Camp happening in January, where sports experts, players, and coaches will discuss ways to increase Olympic training centers across the country. This camp aims to improve India’s chances of winning medals in the Olympics under the Mission Olympics initiative.
In addition, Shreyasi Singh proposed that Bihar participate in a Sports Expo in China in May, which Dr. Mandaviya happily accepted. They also talked about promoting sports culture among school children and focusing on their health and fitness through scientific training methods.
To honor Dr. Mandaviya and Minister of State for Defense, N. Met Khadse, Shreyasi Singh presented them with traditional sarees decorated with Madhubani paintings and symbols of the Bodhi tree. This meeting marks a significant step forward for sports development in Bihar.
