This article talks about the new railway line project between Badhrawa and Bhagalpur in Bihar.

Bihar is getting ready for new railway lines! The East Central Railway has proposed to build the third and fourth railway lines between Badhrawa and Bhagalpur. This project will cover a distance of 256 kilometers, with an estimated cost of around 4,879.63 crores.

These new rail lines are expected to help reduce time for transporting goods, particularly for regions like Kosi and Seemanchal in North Bihar and Northeastern states. Engineers predict a significant financial gain from this project, which will make it easier to transport food and coal more quickly.

Once these rail lines are ready, it will be much simpler for traders to send their goods without delays. Instead of storing food items in cold storage or warehouses, they can load them directly onto trains, saving both time and money. This means less spoilage and reduced storage costs for businesses.

Moreover, having more lines will allow trains to pass smoothly, even when the old lines are busy. This will also pave the way for semi-high-speed trains from Bhagalpur, improving travel speed. The railway is also working on enhancing old tracks to keep trains moving without any hiccups.

The project has already received approval for the third line between Bhagalpur and Jamalpur. This development is expected to bring about 538 crores in financial benefits and 1,341 crores in business gains each year. Currently, land acquisition is underway, with plans to complete the new lines in three years.

Summary:

  • New railway lines will connect Badhrawa and Bhagalpur in Bihar.

  • Project cost is estimated at 4,879.63 crores.

  • Faster transport of goods like food and coal expected.

  • Improved efficiency and reduced costs for traders.

  • Approval for third line between Bhagalpur and Jamalpur received.
