Bihar gets major road and railway projects ahead of elections, aimed at improving connectivity and development.
Political activity in Bihar is heating up as the Lok Sabha elections approach. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led a Union Cabinet meeting that announced two significant projects for the state, including a major road development.
The highlight is the Mokama-Munger four-lane greenfield road project. This road will stretch for 82.40 kilometers and cost around Rs 4,447 crore. It will be part of the Buxar-Bhagalpur highway, with work set to be completed within two and a half years under a Hybrid Annuity Model.
This new road will greatly benefit travelers, making the journey from remote areas of Bihar to Patna much easier. It is expected to reduce travel time by at least one and a half hours, allowing vehicles to travel at an average speed of 80 km/h. Construction is already underway in various sections.
In addition to the road project, the Central Government has also approved surveys for twelve railway projects in Bihar. This includes important upgrades and new connections that will enhance rail travel in the region. Funding of Rs 10.51 crore has been allocated for these surveys.
The government sees these projects as a significant boost to infrastructure in Bihar, aimed at improving development and creating job opportunities. The projects are expected to be completed soon, enhancing connectivity across the state.
