The Bihar Education Department has officially fixed the salary structure for clerks appointed in state government higher secondary schools. According to the new notification, these clerks, known as Lipiks, will receive a fixed monthly salary of ₹16,500. This decision specifically impacts those appointed on compassionate grounds, meaning dependents of teachers and staff who passed away during their service period. The government has ensured that their pay scale matches that of School Assistants.
What is the new salary structure?
The department has clarified the financial benefits for these employees under the ‘Bihar State School Clerk Cadre Rules, 2025’. The primary component is the fixed monthly pay, but there is also a provision for yearly growth.
- Monthly Salary: A fixed amount of ₹16,500 will be paid every month.
- Annual Increment: Employees are eligible for a salary hike of ₹500 every year.
- Parity: This salary is exactly the same as what School Assistants (Vidyalaya Sahayaks) receive currently.
What instructions were given to officials?
The notification was issued under the signature of Ajay Satish Bhengra, Deputy Secretary of the Education Department. following this, Abdus Salam Ansari, Deputy Director of Secondary Education, has directed all District Education Officers (DEOs) to complete necessary paperwork immediately.
Officials must generate PRAN numbers for these clerks to enable National Pension System (NPS) deductions. Additionally, all data regarding these new appointments must be uploaded to the HRMS portal without delay to ensure salaries are processed on time.
