The Bihar government has taken a major step to transform the state into a technology hub. Officials have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tiger Analytics to establish a Mega AI Centre of Excellence (CoE). This significant agreement took place during the India AI Impact Summit & Expo 2026 in New Delhi. The project aims to bring world-class Artificial Intelligence training and job opportunities directly to the state, ensuring that local talent does not need to migrate for high-quality work.

What is the cost and location of the new AI Centre?

The total estimated cost for this project is ₹60 crore. This funding is a joint effort where the Central Government and the Bihar State Government will each contribute ₹24 crore. The remaining ₹12 crore will come from industry partners. The centre is set to be built on 11 acres of land already reserved at the IIT-Patna campus in Bihta. Additionally, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the Bihar Pavilion and appreciated the state’s focus on building a knowledge economy.

How will this benefit students and the common man?

This initiative focuses heavily on upskilling the youth. The centre plans to train over 50,000 young people in AI-related programs. It is also projected to create more than 10,000 direct jobs in the emerging technology sector. Beyond jobs, the technology developed here will help farmers through smart farming advice and improve government services like grievance handling. The goal is to make Bihar a major AI technology hub in a short time.
