Bihar battling severe heatwave
Currently, Bihar is grappling with an intense heatwave, with people resorting to various methods to beat the heat. However, a significant portion of Bihar’s population still does not have access to these amenities, and instead, they are using hand fans, also known as ‘poor man’s cooler’, to stay cool.
Usage of ‘poor man’s cooler’
In Gaya district of Bihar, the hand fan is being constructed on a large scale to provide relief to those who cannot afford conventional cooling devices. These hand fans are a cost-effective alternative for many individuals who are unable to purchase electric fans or air conditioners. The hand fans are simple yet effective tools in providing some relief from the scorching heat.
