The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) teacher recruitment exam (TRE)-3 has been marred by a question paper leak case, leading to the detention of over 270 candidates from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. The Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police took action based on confidential information. Raids were conducted at multiple locations in Hazaribagh on 14th and 15th March, revealing that question papers for TRE-3 candidates from various places in Bihar were made available.
Investigation and Arrests
According to reports, candidates were supposed to leave for their exam centers around 3 AM on the day of the exam, but many were detained for questioning. Some members of the gang involved have been apprehended. Earlier, five accused were arrested by the police. They were the masterminds behind leaking the TRE-3 question paper. The police seized question papers, computers, laptops, printers, and pen drives from their possession. It was found during the investigation that the accused took a substantial amount from each candidate to provide the leaked question papers.
Mafia Rule under NDA Government
The incident has now sparked a political debate, with parties accusing each other. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav alleged that the TRE-3 question paper leak proves the existence of mafia rule in the state under the NDA government. He claimed that during the RJD regime, they provided teaching jobs to two lakh candidates in 70 days without any paper leaks. However, under the NDA government, the TRE-3 question paper got leaked due to mafia influence. Yadav mentioned similar paper leak cases from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh as well.
Strict Action Against Culprits
Deputy Chief Minister and State BJP President Samrat Chaudhary stated that during the RJD rule, an ex-chairman of the Bihar Public Service Commission had to go to jail. He emphasized that strict action will be taken against all involved in the paper leak. Those complicit in this incident are criminals and will not be spared. The investigation is ongoing, and no one will be pardoned.
