Bagaha, dialogue formula:

The holy month of Sawan marks the beginning of festivals. However, this year all festivals are delayed by one month due to the two-month duration of Sawan.

Despite the change in month, two festivals of Sanatan Dharma, namely Makar Sankranti and Vishwakarma Puja, always maintain their scheduled dates. Makar Sankranti is celebrated on 14th January, while Vishwakarma Puja is celebrated on 17th September. This year, these festivals will be celebrated on their respective dates, followed by Teej on 18th September.

Keeps Teej fast for husband’s long life

Upon successfully completing her penance, Lord Shiva accepted her as his wife and blessed her with unbroken good fortune. Since then, married women observe Teej fast with the hope of receiving the blessings of unbroken good fortune.
