What’s inside:

The Bihar government is launching a scheme to set up trauma centers in every district for faster treatment of road accident victims.

The Bihar government is starting a new scheme to help people injured in road accidents. They will build trauma centers in every district, located near highways. This means that patients won’t have to travel all the way to Patna for treatment anymore.

A special committee will be formed to oversee this project, led by the District Magistrate. This committee will include various officials such as the Superintendent of Police and the Civil Surgeon. They will look for the best locations along highways where accidents happen most often and recommend where to build these trauma centers.

This move is aimed at providing quicker medical help to accident victims. Normally, it takes a long time for ambulances to reach city hospitals, especially when they are stuck in traffic. With these new centers near highways, ambulances can reach in just 5 to 10 minutes, which is crucial for saving lives.

In addition to government trauma centers, two private hospitals will also have trauma centers. The best part is that treatment for road accident victims in these private centers will be completely free. The state government will cover all expenses through a dedicated road safety fund.

The main goal of this initiative is to reduce deaths from road accidents and ensure that people from poorer families receive quality treatment without any cost. The construction of these trauma centers will begin soon once the committee submits its report.

Summary:

  • Trauma centers to be set up in every Bihar district.

  • Committee led by District Magistrate will find locations.

  • Ambulances can reach trauma centers in 5-10 minutes.

  • Treatment in private centers will be free for victims.

  • Aim is to reduce road accident deaths and help poor families.
