Bihar has now adopted the sex-sorted semen technique, which is based on American technology, to breed cows. Through artificial insemination, the sex-sorted semen is used on cows, guaranteeing a 90% chance of producing female calves, which is essential for the White Revolution.
Farmers in Bihar will now have access to sex-sorted semen through the Sudha Dairy. However, farmers will have to pay more than in Uttar Pradesh for the breed improvement program. The sex-sorted semen will be available to farmers for a cost of 280 rupees through their nearest artificial insemination employee. This not only guarantees the birth of female calves but also enables the improvement of cattle breeds.
