In a recent incident, a goods train derailed near Dheng railway station on the Sitamarhi-Raxaul route. This happened around 3:30 AM, but fortunately, it didn’t cause major disruptions for other trains.
The station master, Dilip Prasad, mentioned that this incident occurred when the station was mostly empty, so there were no serious problems. The driver managed to stop the train quickly, preventing any further issues.
As a result of the derailment, some trains were delayed. For instance, the Raxaul-Hyderabad train, which was scheduled to arrive at 4:47 AM, reached at 8:58 AM, about four hours late. Similarly, another train from Naraktiaganj to Danapur was delayed by 59 minutes.
The railway officials confirmed that there were no major impacts on train operations for other routes. There are three tracks at Dheng station, and work is currently underway to fix the affected track.
Moving forward, the railway team, led by the Samastipur division manager, Jyoti Prakash Mishra, is on-site to address the situation. The affected goods train is being worked on to restore normalcy as soon as possible.
